Lisa Gade reviews the Toshiba Encore 2 8 inch Windows 8.1 tablet. The Encore 2 is more streamlined than the first gen Encore, and it weighs 13.4 ounces. The tablet has a 1280 x 800 IPS display and it runs Windows 8.1 32 bit on the quad core Intel Atom Bay Trail Z3735G clocked at 1.33GHz with boost to 1.83GHz. It has just 1 gig of RAM, so it’s not much of a multitasker, and it has 32 gigs of flash storage plus a microSD card slot. The tablet has a 1 cell battery that’s good for 8 hours of use with brightness at 50%. It has single band WiFi 802.11n, Bluetooth and Miracast wireless display. The micro USB port supports USB host for peripherals. The 8” Encore 2’s street price is around $149 (list price $199). There’s a 10” model with the same specs and 64 gigs of storage for $299. * Read our full written review here:
